Joanna “JoJo” Levesque will return to Broadway this summer, joining the current revival of “Chess” at the Imperial Theatre.
The singer and actor will begin performances as Florence Vassy on June 23, stepping into the role after Lea Michele, whose final performance is scheduled for June 21. This marks Levesque’s second Broadway engagement. She made her stage debut in 2023 in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” where she led the production as Satine.
Levesque is expected to remain with the production through September 13. Her arrival also coincides with another extension for the musical.
Levesque will join a cast that continues to be led by Aaron Tveit as Freddie Trumper and Nicholas Christopher as Anatoly Sergievsky. The production also features Hannah Cruz as Svetlana, Bradley Dean as Molokov, Sean Allan Krill as Walter, and Bryce Pinkham as the Arbiter.
