Tony Award winner Adrienne Warren will join the Broadway revival of “Proof,” taking over the role of Claire beginning June 30 at Booth Theatre.
Warren replaces Kara Young, who is scheduled to play her final performance June 28. Young will depart the production to take part in “The Whoopi Monologues” at Lincoln Center Theater.
Warren most recently appeared in the New York City Center Encores! production of “The Wild Party,” earning a Drama League Award nomination. Her recent Broadway credits also include the revival of “The Last Five Years” alongside Nick Jonas. In 2021, she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.

The revival of “Proof,” written by David Auburn, opened April 16 at the Booth Theatre. The play, which originally premiered more than two decades ago, won both the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play.
The current production stars Ayo Edebiri as Catherine and Don Cheadle as her father, Robert. Both actors are making their Broadway debuts. Jin Ha co-stars as Hal.
The production is directed by Thomas Kail and features original music by Kris Bowers. The creative team also includes scenic designer Teresa L. Williams, costume designer Dede Ayite, lighting designer Amanda Zieve, and sound designers Justin Ellington and Conor Wang. Hair and wig design is by Mia Neal. Casting is by Daniel Swee, and Sara Gammage serves as production stage manager. Baseline Theatrical is the general manager.
