Kid Cudi has called-off his show in Birmingham, Alabama this week, with low ticket sales to blame.
Cudi’s “The Rebel Ragers Tour” was set to stop at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater on Tuesday, May 5, featuring support from Big Boi, A-Track, and M.I.A.
”I wanted to go to Alabama because it’s one of the many places in the U.S. where I haven’t ever performed,” Cudi said. “I wanted to give y’all a special experience, but the ticket sales just weren’t strong enough. I hope ya’ll understand.”
Those who purchased a ticket should receive a refund issued to the original payment method, appearing in the buyer’s account within 14-21 days.
Cudi’s cancellation in Birmingham follows Post Malone’s cancellation in the same city earlier this week, citing that he was unable to have new music ready ahead of the tour.
”The Rebel Ragers Tour” kicked-off April 28 in Phoenix and is set to stop next in Atlanta on Wednesday, May 6. The trek is set to run through late June, wrapping in Chula Vista. Already, M.I.A. Has been dropped from the tour; Cudi said he removed her from the tour due to “offensive remarks” and “rants” made by the artist.
“I told my management to send a notice to her team before we started tour that I didn’t want anything offensive at my shows, ‘cause I already knew what time it was, and I was assured things were understood,” Cudi said.
