Pop star Meghan Trainor announced that she has “made the difficult decision” to cancel her upcoming U.S. tour.
The 33-date “The Get In Girl Tour” was scheduled to kick-off in just two months, however, Trainor said that “after a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour.”
“Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time,” Trainor said in a statement on social media.
She noted that while this “will come as a disappointment to my fans,” she knows “this is the right decision for my family and me right now.”
“I promise I’ll be back soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear this new record,” Trainor continued. “I’m so proud of it, and I’m endlessly grateful for your love and support always.”
The tour was set to begin on June 12 and run through August 15, making stops at venues like Denver’s Ball Arena, the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, New York City’s Madison Square Garden, Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.
Trainor did not reveal details regarding ticket refunds, nor if dates will be rescheduled to a later date.
Toy With Me, Trainor’s seventh studio album, is due April 24.
