Paramore's Hayley Williams Attempts to Curb Resale on 'At a Bachelorette Party' Tour

Paramore’s pop-punk frontwoman Hayley Williams will embark on a solo tour next year to support her 2025 record — and she’s attempting to curb resale throughout the run.

The “Hayley Williams at a Bachelorette Party” tour kicks-off with a two-night gig at Tabernacle in Atlanta, followed by a pair of gigs in cities like Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago, as well as three-night shows in New York City, Nashville, and Oakland before wrapping-up the North American run with a triple-night stay at The Wiltern in Los Angeles.

From there, Williams will head overseas for a brief run across Europe and the UK. Water From Your Eyes will provide direct support on almost all dates, with Snuggle and Tiberius B stepping-in on select international gigs.

Williams said that she wants to avert ticket resellers on her tour by putting measures in place ahead of the presale. In partnership with Openstage, a verified fan presale will be open; through this system, two-factor authentication will be required for fans to gain a unique access code.

“I want to get tickets into the hands of my fans, at a price that is as reasonable as I could get,” Williams said. “I’ve had countless conversations with my team, and they’ve spend countless hours trying to find the best solution for fans to be able to buy tickets. It’s been tough (to say the least), and unfortunately, there’s just no way to guarentee that zero tickets get scalped. But we’re doing our best.”

The singer, however, did not mention that alongside resellers, another broken part of the ticketing system lies within the primary ticketers; entertainment giant Live Nation and its ticketing subsidiary Ticketmaster have been called-out for egregious pricing, disguised under the models of “dynamic” or “platinum” prices.

Fans will, however, have the chance to sell or purchase resale tickets available through a face value ticket exchange. This restricts tickets from being resold through sites like Ticketmaster, AXS, and other ticketing platforms. Ticket transfers will also be disabled in eligible states.

Time and time again, artists or governing bodies who have attempted to restrict resale quickly found the flaws in this practice; banning the ability to resell tickets further limits competition, allowing the big-name companies to remain on top.

Williams will be touring in support of her 2025 record Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. The 20-track LP follows 2021’s Flowers for Vases / Descansos and 2020’s Petals for Armor.
