Morrissey, Patti Smith, Interpol to Headline CBGB Festival 2026

The CBGB Festival will return to Brooklyn, New York, on September 26, with Morrissey, Patti Smith, and Interpol announced as headliners. The one-day event will take place at Under the K Bridge Park.

Other performers include Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, Bikini Kill, Buzzcocks, Circle Jerks, Agnostic Front, and Haywire. Additional artists on the bill include Mannequin Pussy, Militarie Gun, High Vis, Upchuck, Bad Nerves, and Panic Shack.

Violet Grohl is also scheduled to perform. The singer-songwriter is set to release her debut album, Be Sweet to Me, on May 29. The lineup also features The Return of Jackie and Judy, a Ramones tribute band that includes members of Sleater-Kinney and drummer Fred Armisen.

The festival continues to honor the legacy of the original CBGB club, which opened in 1973 in New York City’s East Village. The venue played a key role in launching early punk and new wave acts, including the Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, and Patti Smith.

Phil Sandhaus of CBGB said the 2026 event builds on last year’s festival. “Building on last year’s CBGB Festival, we’ve worked hard to create an even stronger experience for fans this year,” Sandhaus said in a statement. 

“For decades, CBGB defined the punk scene and helped shape a generation of music lovers in New York and beyond. This year’s lineup honors that legacy while celebrating the past, present, and future of punk and alternative music,” Sandhaus continued. “No other festival on the East Coast offers that.”

The 2025 festival featured headliners Iggy Pop and Jack White. Other performers included Johnny Marr, Marky Ramone, The Damned, Melvins, Gorilla Biscuits, Murphy’s Law, Cro-Mags, The Linda Lindas, and Lambrini Girls.

Tickets for the 2026 event will be released in phases. A presale will begin on Thursday, April 23 at 10 a.m. local time. Fans can register in advance through the festival’s website. General ticket sales will open on Friday, April 24 at 10 a.m. local time.
