New Jersey natives Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi are set to headline a two-night concert event this summer marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The concerts, scheduled for June 4 and 5, will take place at the OceanFirst Bank Center on the campus of Monmouth University. The performances are part of a broader initiative tied to the opening of the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music, which is set to officially debut on June 7.
The event, titled “Music America: The Songs That Shaped Us,” will also feature Kenny Chesney, Mavis Staples, and Public Enemy. The lineup also features Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash, Gary Clark Jr., Dion, and Dropkick Murphys, along with Shemekia Copeland and Valerie June.

Additional acts include Keb’ Mo’, Nils Lofgren, Darlene Love, and David Sancious, as well as Tony Trischka and Sister Sadie. The bill is rounded out by Trombone Shorty and the New Breed Brass Band, Stevie Van Zandt, and Jimmie Vaughan. Disciples of Soul will serve as the house band for the event.
Tickets for the concerts will be sold separately and are scheduled to go on sale April 21 at noon through the Springsteen Center’s website.
Robert Santelli, executive director of the Springsteen Center and executive producer of the concerts, described the program as a reflection of the country’s musical legacy. “Music America: The Songs that Shaped Us’ is a journey through American music history,” Santelli said.
“The concerts reflect everything the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music stands for: the power of music to bring people together, the rich and diverse treasury of American music as a mirror of our national culture, and the inspiration to think about our shared history in these divisive times.”

The concerts are part of the Springsteen Center’s ongoing programming tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary. The initiative began in 2024 with a traveling exhibition, “Music America: Iconic Objects from America’s Music History,” which is currently on display at the Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame in Boston.
Notably, Springsteen is in the midst of his “Land of Hope and Dreams” American Tour, set to wrap up in May. Upcoming performances include stops in cities such as Newark, Austin, Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York and Boston before wrapping up on May 27 in Washington D.C.
